This oen sat right behind the rear seat. I am looking at getting the M3 ones and was wondering how they compaired to the others. Does the M3 one fill the whole area top to bottom or does it just go to the top of the shock towers?

yep. I put it into my early 325. easy bolt-on job. search ETK. tank with fuel gauge sendor and some ventilation hosed and a big Tee-shaped hoses are needed. you can find a scribe circle on the trunk floor to be open for big hose. to open the hole, beat circle with a hammer. not sure it is vital for late modei because the main tank is different.
Shit, even my Talon doesn't get bad enough gas mileage to need another gas tank.
"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

When you drive into a state that its .30 a gallon more it's nice to port some extra. I have mine faux mounted as I am waiting for one new line from BMW.
The whole set up is over 400 euros now if you can get it. Alpina units traditional went on the trunk floor, and were covered by carpeting.
Trust me I hated filling my car over here on the economy. So to drive from base to base or Esso to Esso with coupons was nice. The extra 15 liters was good for about 80 miles at 170 kph where I tend to cruise here.
AJ's M-tech II has a 3.64 lsd so it gets way better mileage than I ever did but it's not as fun.
the extras tank in my m3 is great, but me and EURO3 who also has an M3 came to the conclusion that it doesnt fill up. with a full tank, it still sounds empty as shit when you knock on it. I have no idea how it gets filled. it sits higher than everything else. it sits in middle if the rear wheel wells, and comes about half way up to the shock tower mounts.
