    Stop Downloading MP3's.

Step into 2004. I know its been around, shut up all you "wahh, its been around for xxxx years!!!" people. Do die already, no one thinks your cool.

All of you deserve the treat of listening to a .ogg file than a .mp3.
MUCH cleaner sound, no distortion, more highs/lows, just correct in every way.
I just downloaded my first one today after reading an interesting article on them. Winamp will play .ogg's. Go try one.

Ogg Voorbis. A vastly superior music encryption method.

Does it compare to any bit rate of an MP3 file? All my mp3 files are 192kps. I rip them from my CD's. I also have a Kenwood MP3 head unit in my car and like the fact that you can get 7-8 cds on one cd, with all the file info.

Does the file size change much for the increased quality?

I'll still stick with stuff I can play on an ipod. For now, that's not ogg. Apple Lossless and m4a will have to do

surebimmer, when you convert your cd's over to mp3, you are losing a lot of the sound quality. MP3's are known as "lossy", which means it omits parts of the song which you "shouldnt" be able to hear. Ogg Vorbis also does this, but not as exteme. It omits other parts of the song, ones that are less detrimental IMHO. The result is a much cleaner sound, with the same size. Right now, I am listening to 194kb Ogg files.

I have some on my PC but my in-dash player and my handheld dont play them so for now I will be sticking to MP3. Besides, my music is usually turned down so I can hear the music my car makes.

so are each individual OGG files bigger in size than MP3s?

How do you convert Music CD into these OGG files?

                    :?

Just when I thought I learned how MP3s work, aiming to get an Ipod, I hear something like this. :(

In theory the file can be compressed with better quality in smaller fiies

eh...I'll change over to .ogg when the whole world does, right now my mp3 will hold me over. Plus everything else I use supports mp3.
