87e30 front tow hook

J just got a tow hook from a guy of ebay its what he said was a front tow hook for a e30 e36 and i think
e42 i think dont quote me but i looked in my bently book and it said it goes right behind the front lisence plate, i removed my german plate and i see a bunch of holes and even tho i didnt look very well i dont think any of them where threaded. 2nd the hook appers to have a 5/8-8 thread and look like a acme thread but maybe a uk thread, i know the m's have it but what do u think i should do? Im at work on my phone so when
i get home ill post some pics if needed
