    cant find it anywhere!

    ok guys, you cant say i didnt search. i have tried and cant find a write up on how to swap an m20 for my m10. anyone know of a thread i missed? i am going to be swapping in the m20. along with the 5 speed.

    here it is:

    1. remove M10, transmission and all related components
    2. Install M20, transmission and all related components.

    Both engines are from the same chassis, so the swap is literally bolt-in, no modifications required. Just start wrenching and use your head. (physically, if you like)

      Are the harness connections different between the body and the engine?

      Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

        ignore most of what this guy said..

        You will need the complete m20 drivetrain and cooling system
        radiator, hoses, overflow tank, driveshaft, gearbox, diff (318i uses small case) and if you have the rear subframe from the 325, grab it as well for the rear discs.
        Once installed you will have to make an adapter for the difference in injection wiring harness (assuming you are swapping in a late model m20b25). That diagram should be available inn the motorswap section of the site.. good luck.

                For all that work I'd swap something else. Search CL for bapped cars with low miles.....
