    I can't find 318ic springs!

Has anyone lowered their 318ic? What springs did you use? I was told that I can use 318is springs, but would have to use an extra pad in the rear so it won't drop to low. Has anyone done this?

I used eihbach sport springs for the sedan, I too was told that the rear would drop too much, but I have not noticed it
the front did drop lower then the back, ill seee if I can find the measurements, but it was like 1.5 in the front and 1.25 in the rear

I used used springs so I did expect the rear to sag, but it was all I dould find and afford at the time

I had a great link to springs, but cant find it right now

pic is the day I droppped the car back down

today I have to put the bottle caps back on :( they have better winter tires

I never understood why the rear spring rates are stiffer than front. doesn't make sense to me.

Anyway i've used 325 springs on my 318 with no problems. i'm sure you can use some for 325ic

3bvert, did you use Eibachs from a 318i sedan or 325i?

Its all in the geometry of the control arm.

Because the spring is inboard on the rear control arm.

stacking pads is no big whoop.

i stacked pads at first in my 18is - was actually going for some rake.. but the rake looked bad and I took one set back out.

How low are you wanting to go? Also, what's the price range?

                        Vogtland coupe springs look good.

only looking to drop 1 to 1.25 inches, and firm up the suspension. Will I have to change the shocks too?

Shocks should be your main concern. If you want to firm it up and get a good ride that is.

                            Bilstein sport vote from me.

seriously, look into a set of M3 springs. you can get them used for really cheap. as for the shocks, you could probably run them with the stock shocks but it would be better to use bilstein sports.
