It's not a procar, just a street model kitted up to look like one.

      That sunroof is hurtin'.

That doesn't make any sense considering it's a mid-engine car. Anyone got an explaination for this?

That's gross vehicle weight, not what it actually weighs. Those figures are the loading limits. Obviously you can load the front higher theoretically with less weight on that end.

Car looks grey market, so it's all probably fudged figures anyway.

I was thinking the same thing, like the 80's Transformers or Go-Bots. I would have gone nuts for that car when I was 8

Having gone for a 150 mile drive in an M1, I can honestly say that it has one of the nicest exhaust notes of any car. It's also a beautifully balanced car.

that is definately a road version car. about 40 miles from me is a BMW dealer that has a procar M1 that they sponsored back then in their showroom. the racing version is not a streetable car at all-- infact its not really even the same car. up close the procar versions look like they were put together by a 5 yearold. no lines or anything matches up on them, but that is not a bad thing, its just pure raw sex!!!!

                              Not a Lambo!

The M1's body was designed by Lamborghini.
Sorry, not so. "Conceived to replace the aging 3.0 CSL in GT racing, the M1 was a giant leap forward in design for BMW. With the Giugiaro / Italdesign designed M1 BMW instantly entered the supercar market, previously dominated mostly by Italian and British manufacturers."
