yea well i lost my only key to my e36.. it had everything in it..books for school, parking permit, and the keys to open the store i work at. thankfully i found them the next day but a new one was going to take me days to get and about $80 from a dealership

i think im going to pick up a lighted key at the dealership.
I got one sole key for my e30 and its real damn worn,
that, and the lock cylinder is pretty rough so its kinda bending.

any advice on semi-stuck lock cylinders? i currently unlock the car via trunk

If I did it again, I would buy a key blank off eBay, take it to my local dealer & have them cut it.

that wouldnt work seeing as how the "dealer" isnt the one who cut your new key in the firstplace.-- it is possible to order a blank without the light too-- your parts counter guy just wanted to pull in a few more dollars probably.
