Just saw the most unbelievable sight of my life

We just came out of the movie theater, after watching "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" (which was awesome, by the way). We get out to the car, and there's a white Mitsu EVO VIII parked next to my wife's E30. The headlghts are on, so I decided to check it out. When I get there, I find the engine is running. Upon closer inspection...

THERE IS NO ONE IN THE CAR.

My brother in law proceeds to tell me that the guy just ran up to the box office to buy tickets, and left the motor running, and the car unlocked.

I'm still trying to process this, and am still trying to convince myself that I actually just witnessed this event.

A brand new Mitsubishi EVO VIII to be exact, nearly at the end of the parking lot.

Someone could have stolen it in a heartbeat, the point of the story was that it was incredibly stupid to do.

Why don't you shut the fuck up and go post on Bimmerforums or something.

Eh, the desire NOT to become a prison bitch far outweighed the desire to go for a joyride in a new EVO VIII.

Aside from the fact that messing with another man's automobile, however stupid and undeserving as the driver may be, is one of the lowest, most spinless things a human could ever do.

Are you sure it wasnt his turbo timer?

On most turbo timers, the engine stays running for a pre determined amount of time and the engine is shut off if the ebrake is disengaged.

No, someone yelled after him to tell him his lights were still on, and he yelled back that he left it running.

I was half-tempted to drive it around the backside of the building and park it, just to teach him a lesson. :D

Having that car on makes that trick so much easier.

We like to hook it up to a truck and just drag it around to the back. People trip pretty hard, its funny as hell.

seeing how far it was parked makes me say likewise. My buddies with turbo timers would say the same response as that dude as they got tired of explaning what turbo timers do

                          Good point^^

I was thinking you were shitting your pants about this and you were going to say she bought you an EvoVIII and had it delivered and left running next to your car so it would be a huge Christmas suprise. I was hoping to hear that.

Sure it wasn't the dude turned the car off and the turbo timer was keeping the car on?
