I would be deleting the present 3rd brake light in the rear shelve (inside) and roll with the trunk mounted one. Thinking it would look kinda different and cool. I need to re-dye my rear speaker shelf anyway..cause its faded out blue. Not black.

The hinges are different on the cabrios - may have to swap them out to make it fit.

It should fit if you are using your car's hinges and only swapping the lids.

I put a non-cabby trunk lid on a cabby - no issues.

A polisher and some compound will do wonders for faded paint.... when I first read the thread title I got excited because I assumed you made a mistake and wanted to swap a non cabrio trunklid onto a cabrio, which I have been curious about doing. I really dont see why you want the third brake light, but my question was answered in your thread, so thanks :)
