    Break in as stated, I used royal purple.

    After the break in, I used Shell Rotella T 15w/40. It's a diesel oil, so it has extra detergents to keep it extra clean.

      I've read about diesel oil, lots of zinc or something like that to keep it all clean. I'll look for the dino oil, then decide on a synthetic afterwards.

        Zinc isn't about keeping things clean. It's not a detergent. Zinc is to reduce cam/tappet wear and provide corrosion resistance on iron-block engines.

        Rotella Diesel used to be high in zinc...but apparently that's no longer true. These days, people who want high zinc content stick with Valvoline VR1 Racing and Brad Penn (which is basically the original formula for Kendall GT1).
