I'm looking at a calypsorot vert tomorrow. I have a glacier blue coupe and I know that it cleans up pretty well. Does anyone with calypso know how well it cleans up? If there is oxidation is it a single stage or a dual stage paint (i.e. how easy would it "come back to life")? Also, it is a vert, is there anything that I should look for that I wouldn't have with my other car? Thanks in advance, hoping to add another e30 to the family!

if it's oxidized expect to claybar the shit out of it. it should come back after a good detailing, however.

If you drive your e30 on stairs, you're gonna have a bad time.

anything that is met. is a 2 stage-- so the calypso car is -- yes 2 stage paint. it will not buff out if it is "oxidized"
I now have a vert. I would look to see if the floors are dry in the rear--- put your hand under the carpet and see if its dry-- I have a problem I cannot find where the water is coming from.

But, if it's base/clear then you can't really rescue it from the dead.

calypso has the same problems that bronzit has. If the clear is hazing/cracking, you have to get a respray. You can fight it with wetsanding and polishing, but its only a matter of time.
Mine just started to crack 6-7 years ago, and it looks like total garbage now.
