Power windows have failed, replacement options?

88' 325is windows are stuck down. I want to save some weight so I was thinking about going with plastic windows, id be okay with tabs making the windows either all the way up or all the way down. Anyone ever seen this, and do you think it could be easily done.

if you pop off that round plastic piece you can use an allen tool to roll your windows back up

I have a late model car without the tabs, I'd have to pop the door cards off which I'm okay with. Im talking about replacing the glass windows with plastic and removing the power motors
