    Ski Rack?

Did bmw make a ski rack for the e30's? I have heard about a ski slot but havent seen one or think it would be good enough for what im looking for. I need a rack but would prefer a authentic one.

I have one for sale... I will post you some pics soon... its a nice unit. I am not sure if its OEM, but it sure suits the E30 and is made to hold 4 pairs of ski's...

Just get a Thule 300 system. I work at a store that specializes in Thule and Yakima roof racks, and from my experience most OEM racks suck hard. Plus, even if you did track down the BMW rack, the chances that it isn't rusted out and the locks still work are slim.

Thule is better in the long run though. Yakima racks tends to rust out after a few years. Believe me, I know these things.

            Yeah Thule is better.

I sold racks as part of my job this summer and Thule is better across the board. Even though the two companies are so similar.

One of the part numbers for the ski sack I got the other day 72.60 1 949 536.0

I got the complete setup, and a arm rest seat with head rests for my car. I just need to start converting it to cloth instead of beige leather.

I would go Thule also but that is only due to I am biased due to having three of them. two I got free one on side of road the other in my house when I moved in. I use them for bikes though.

Nope. Yakima is actually a tiny bit more expensive.

The 300 system from Thule fits most any car with raingutters, like e30s. I have one on my car. Check out my company's website and go through the "vehicle outfitting guide". The base rack system will run you about 200 bux new, and then you need to add whatever attachments you want as far as snowboard/bike carriers. You can even order the stuff off of our website and we'll mail it to you. Give the store a call if you have any questions. I'll be in on Saturday.

what about racks for snowboards? do you guys who sell them at work have the hookup on them? maybe we could work something out. I work at a snowboard shop and get a 30% discount. We just don't sell racks

also, for the rain gutter system- i did my shadowline-would it rub the paint off?

how much do these systems tend to cost?

A new Thule 300 system is about $200. With a snowboard/ski carrier, about $310. That includes locks for everything.

                          what about racks for snowboards?
The "flat-top" ski racks from Thule will carry both skis and snowboards.

I do for myself, but I can't really give you guys any deals unfortunately. Its such a small company that they can't afford to just give the stuff away without making a profit. I've got a nice Ride Timeless that I pro-formed through my Ski Market job a couple years ago, but thanks for the offer.
