    Pick-n-Pull

    Went to pick-n-pull...Pulled a dash (No cracks)..then got quoted 70...then 50.
He wouldn't go any lower LAME
So I didn't get it. I messed it up a little pulling it out on the a pillar but it was nothing major. If anyone wants to buy it I can go back and get it (if they don't toss or sell it)

Once it is cracked it is as good as useless. Best way to pull them is to drop the column. This avoids pinches on the sides. Better luck next time.

It wasn't cracked at all. Just got dented. It wouldn't be very noticeable when installed.

a crack free dash is definitely worth 50 bucks. lkq's put "reject" parts in a bin up front by the checkout after people pull something and decide not to buy it. that stuff gets trashed right away. my pick a part sells e30 dashes for 50,00 as well. if i find a crack free one, i will pay that price all day long. the going rate for a good one from a member here is three times that. good luck buying a new one. the advice from specracem5 is sound, but i have taken 3 or 4 dashes out of e30's without dropping the column. my secret is to remove the interior cover off the A pillars on both sides first. then i slide it out the passenger side. almost easy peasy but not quite.

I know that you're in Cali and there are e30's in junkyards everywhere, but how much did you really expect to pay? $50 is not bad at all for a good crack free dash.

The thing is my dash only has one minor crack ( 1 inch or so), so I didn't want to spend that much when mine wasn't that bad.

I got a dash with like a 1mm nonvisible crack for $30 at pick the part in Ventura. Took awhile to pull it, not looking forward to swapping it into the car :p but I'd rather have taken it out of a junkyard car so I know how to do it right on mine.

Honestly if I had just spent an hour to pull it and it was $50 I'd take it. They go for like $100 on here.
