    No title??

I sold my E30 like a retard and now I want another BUT I don't have much cash to spend on one. I found one on the cheap but it has no title. I'm not sure why its has no title yet.

Not sure what to do? I mean the car is kinda worthless without one right?

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

      Wrong.

WA has a different rule than any of the other 9 states I have lived in called "registration only"

Call the goddamn DMV and learn.

      Closing SOON!

Get the VIN and run it at your local Vehicle Registration facility. They will inform you of the owner, whom then can apply for a lost title and sell you the car. Otherwise it's a parts car.

        Luke, elaborate?

In WA, you can get "reg only". You can legally drive the car for 3 years, at the end of which you own the car 100%.

IF the "PO" re-titles that VIN, OR (here is where it gets crappy) if the PO simply claims the car, it is theirs.

title bond $100 through an insurance company

Trip to police department to get car's vin checked out

Pay regular tag and title fee

You'll get your title in a few weeks.

This is how it is in Georgia anyways...

If the current possesor of the car was the last owner of record, they can get an affidavit in lieu of title. Then they sign it over to you stating they have no interest in the vehicle. It amazes me how many folks loose their titles.

in KY you can get a replacement or salvage title easy, but without one the car is nothing but parts or a track rat.

I dunno how it is in your state, but in MA$$ (who is a bitch) you only need a bill of sale and previous registration (original copy of reg). Was very painless for me when I bought my e30 from VT. Check the RMV website! Answered all my questions.
