What is an S50 bare block worth?

I have a guy that wants to buy a bare S50 block off me. I want to give him a good deal because he will give me a parts hook up later, but I have to figure out what the thing is worth. Any ideas? I would say it is a roughly 120k block with nothing attached.

    $25, at least to me.

Complete motors are too cheap. Unless he is doing some uber-race build or already has all the accessories/brackets/etc.

$100, assuming it just needs a hone?

Actually, the guy is an engine builder and just needs a bare S50 block. Complete motors aren't $25 cheap.

Ask $300 see what he says. Complete 2.8L's are running in the $650 to $1300 depending on mileage. 3.0L's are $800 to $2000 depending on who's selling em.

If you want to give him a "good deal", just tell him it's free? What's it worth to you sitting around doing nothing? Karma will get you back soon enough and you'll be happy.

Have you made a purchase from www.blunttech.com recently?

That's why I said, TO ME. If the guy is an engine builder any M5x/S5x block will do since he could bore/hone if he wanted to.

That isn't a bad idea. He can get me custom HC pistons for the M5 and he is working on billet tool steel cams for M5x/S5x engines, so I'm sure the karma would be helpful when it is time to buy that stuff.

I'd at least charge him scrap-metal price for it.
