sucks being in a small town wiht no competition,
places like exsaust and windshield shops around here are few and far between. this summer calling the THREE glass shops in town, they all had the same price for a windshield in a 318.......$200

same crap on exsaust, only 2 guys in town that have the tools or knoledge. and the chepest guy is $65 an hour

wish I could have gotten a windshield for 120
but wishes are like fishes, cant always catch em

Seriously. I'd feel much better about a rock hitting my cheapo glass than having to replace the OEM stuff AGAIN.

I just got a new windshield too. It was so pitted that it was kinda becoming a safety concern with the amount of driving that I do at night. I think mine ended up being $150 installed, and the guy did it in my driveway. Replacing the window yourself isn't too bad, but I couldn't find a place near me that would sell me just the glass...

Most aftermarket windshields have terrible optical distortion the closer you get to the A pillar.

But, if there's an aftermarket windshield that's better than OEM and has what the OEM doesn't have, namely, the reflection dots, I would like to know.

This is the one I got, 51311466363, I got it for less than 200 bucks from a local dealer.

Replaced the glass on my 2002 330i e46 last week. Safelite price 310.00 including labor at my location. Not cheap but ...eh..not horrible I guess.

I replace mine every couple months. 4 this summer alone. $72 dollars for new glass and I bought the proper sealing tool, there's absolutely no reason to have an imperfect windshield.

I'd put my money down on a PPG windshield.

I'm suffering from a crack that in this ridiculously cold WA winter, is creeping every week or so about an inch closer to the top from the bottom. I don't think the replacement non-OEM glass is a big deal. It may not be perfect, but it's one of those things that has to be replaced.
