    Upholstery Steam Cleaner?

I just bought a Volvo 240 for the winter, and it's got cloth interior. The seats are pretty dirty - yet the cloth is in good shape.

I want to try to get the dirt stains out of them, so I was thinking getting a steam cleaner. Does anyone have any insight on which one would be a good buy for the application?

Sure, if you got one laying around. I'm just looking for one that someone knows is good at getting deep dirt out.

I've used a couple steam cleaners on upholstery before that didn't do shit.

i used a bissel that preheated the water and it made a big difference! i used the carpet cleaning solution on the carpet and deluted it a little more for the seats and door panels. it had scotchguard in it which i figure can't hurt either.

the home depot/lowes rugdoctor rentals are supposed to be great, but you have to pay extra for the upholstery attachment. my bissel already has one so i used that insted.

I have this and works great for detailing nook & crannies all over the car. Never used it on upholstery.

This is what I've been looking at for home & auto upholstery. Seems like the best concept.

Both of these I've seen at Costco.

Ive got the Bissel that is listed in the post above. It works pretty well with some cavets. One. You will need to get the tap water very hot when you fill the tank as it does not have an onboard heater. Then use the machine quickly thereafter to get the benefits of the heated water and solution mix.
Two. Since the tanks are small you will need to refill and empty the catch tanks a bunch of times.
            Three.
The spray head sprays the water in an area that is larger than the vacuum head size so if you are doing anything overhead and move the spray head to the side of the headliner it will spray all over the place.

Overall it does a very very good job and is ultraportable! It has lines on the plastic tank that indicate exactly how much solution to add and then how much water so there is no measuring and guesstimating.

I'll have to go with one that self heats the water, since I'll be using it in a garage. But good to know, thanks.
