    what is the best way of tracking down the the location of this (coolant?) leak

            #13 sometimes they can crack and start leaking. The spiderhose thing is from a e36. It has one hose that runs through it all instead of how the e34 has several hoses. Hope that helps.

              check for a split on the underside of your hose, very common problem here in the north
