Ugh, i had to work on one once....never again. and yes, they are slow. stupid PRV-6 motors. Peugeot/Renault/Volvo V6. yes. it's a frankenstein of all 3 makes thrown into one slow engine. you need 3 incomplete manuals to work on them, plus it doesnt even cover most of what needs to be done on them.

also, they did come with 5 speeds and the flap on the hood is for the fuel cap.

also, the reason why most the time you see a delorean parks is because they DONT run. more unreliable than a polish tank in wwII driving underwater.

      I HAAAAAAAAAAAATE Deloreans.

my friends dad had one back in the 80's wel used to think it was the coolest car. then in HS a friend of mine was given a Bricklin by his grandparents....another gullwinged POS. we always used to joke about going back to the future in the Bricklin.

That is a classic design element by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design. Google his name and you will notice almost all of his designs are wedges like the svx and delorean. The MK1 Scirocco is one of his more famous designs.

DeLorian was running out of money, and with the company sinking into a financial wasteland, he began smuggling copious amounts of cocaine to finance the company. Didnt work out to well for him.

in Back to the Future, all the Delorian in motion scenes were dubbed over with a throaty V8 to give the car more character, the original powerplant sounded like a waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles with a kazoo stuck in it.

Lastly, i saw a delorian about 10 years back with the plate MUF-DVR parked at a local garage here. Actually bought a disposable camera and drove back to take a picture, beem meaning to send it in to Maxim for the picture caption contest for the last decade, never got a round to it. People could have a field day with that one.

              jimsill, do some research.

the cocaine thing is only half the story. It was a sting operation. he was never actually charged for anything. He officially had defended himself and the case was closed because he proved it was entrapment by the police.

also, they actually dubbed over the motor noise from a Porsche.

The windows are like that because with the design of the car (both svx and delorian) wont permit the whole window to retract.
