You can get your permit at 15 1/2 technically if you start your class stuff early. Then be licensed in 6 months.
    I was anxious.

That is super important if you have a nice E30. Something that cost you $10K to build, scrounging for parts, finding rust free this and that won't be worth dick if you total it. The best you'll get from an insurance co is mint value from a blue / black book, which is dismal.

Worse, many companies will look to see if you've modified the car, like significant power upgrades, etc. If you have, they don't have to provide coverage. Sucks if you total the car, you're out thousands. Really sucks if you kill someone, you're out millions. Seriously.

And btw, everything else i have is with state farm.. E90, mini, two bikes and house for over $350 a month. Gets expensive after a while. :(

I think you can do better than that! But then again, I know anything much about insurance deeply.

Got all of our vehicles with Safeco. The E30 (liability only, it has a reconstructed title), the Volvo, and my Nissan pickup, both of those with full coverage, $148 a month.

Classic modified car insurance.. actual cash value appraisal of $25000 CND, premium of ~$350 a year. 5,000KM annual limit and I can't drive it to work.

    Works for me.

    Gieco...

$71.00 a month w/Comp and Collision. I thought it was fair given it's two people (Wife and I), full coverage. I have a pristine driving record and the wife has some 4 tickets, and 3 accidents on her record. Not sure if either the tickets or accidents are still "on her record" at all, but she's the majority of the cost... at least that's what I tell her ;)
