E34 535i Should I?

I drove one.
It was a 5 speed.
Shat bricks.
I personally like them, Jean pretty much hit the spot as well as others.
Though I don't know much about them other than tid bits of the M30, tis a nice automobile.

e34 is very good, a little bit more comfortable than an e30 in my opinion and with a proper engine you can also have some fun :)

And by "proper" what were you thinking? Chip, headers, cam? Or just boost? (I don't really feel like messing with boost on this one)

Definitely go for it, if the price is right. The 55mph shimmy that plagues so many of these cars (my '94 530iT included) is, I believe, due more to the fact that the E32/34 front suspension setup is very intolerant of worn parts, more than any particular part wearing out quicker than you'd expect. If the car you're looking at has such a shimmy, however, don't automatically assume its the front end. The one I'm tracking down in my Touring actually seems to be coming from the rear suspension, as I don't feel it at all in the steering, only my butt.

Great cars overall, though, especially with manual transmissions (I've got a 5-speed in my garage waiting to be swapped in to mine).

there is someone in my area seliing a complete M30 with 5speed. i might offer him 300 and take both, that would be a kick ass swap.
