    sweet
hope all it is is a head gasket,
    does it start, turn-over ?
before jumping to conclusinols and order parts, do a leak down test
if your lucky and all it is is a gasket, a afternoon job
if its a head, well your in for a few hun more and a few more days waiting for parts and machine work
if you get a used head, see if you can get it tested first at a machine shop, if it fails , get your money back
if it passes, get it plained at a minimum

anopther thing to look into, is why did it blow a head gasket,
water pump, thermostat, water leak, age ??????

of course you can just replace the gasket and cross your fingers

sweet deal if all the drive works, even if you have to replace the head

    nice find,

    good luck

no headgaskets here, timing belt. At a minimum I see having to replace valves. Where is a good place to source a head for my E30? Should I junk yard it? Noticed a few E30's at my local dump a couple of weeks ago.

There is an S14 for sale locally haha. Can someone say AWD E30 M3. I can't.

Back to basics... how much should I expect to pay$$ for everything with -&- without using a mechanic... Like I said before, anyone local looking to make a few extra bucks for the new year!?

Also is this job something the Bently Manual instructs? I've never used one surprisingly.

Pics? Sounds like a reasonably good pickup. Its pretty hard to come by a good iX these days.

while your changing timing belt, you might want to also change your water pump because it probably hasn't ever been changed and it will help the car last a little longer. Its also easier to do while everything is off. Might as well do it once right?
