    my Explorer Exploded

So today my explorer that ive always been adding water to overheated and blew the headgasket.the radiator had a bit of a leak. Its toasted now though...
I dont know if the head is destroyed or not, but theres definitely water in the oil.

How much do you guys think i could get by selling it? I think that will be better than trying to spend 3-5 hundred and it still not running.
    its a 5.0 v8 with like 170,000 on it.

    Opinions? Comments welcome..

    Scrap metal.

I think the junkyards offer like $200-$300 Unless you have the time to part it out

                ???

Its the Police interceptor motor too! it had the nice heads. but i doubt they are much good now.

how much could i make by parting everything out roughly?

think anyone would buy the whole thing for 500 bucks?

i could make a nice little beater e30 for that!

the heads from an explorer are gt40P heads and have different plug locations so you need special headers to run them on a mustang. If not mistaken exploders with the 5.0 have 8.8's in them with 31 spline axles and discs so thats worth a little too. Too bad the shortblock isnt a TRW motor.

Ford 302 h.o. motors 86-92( IIRC) had trw stamped on the pistons and the trw pistons were forged and in 93 they went to a hyper cast piston so if it were a trw shortblock it would be more desirable to 5.0 guys

yeah the 8.8 3x spline can get you something, the front diff, t-case, and tranny, might be worth pulling as well. Dont know much about fords but it would be worth your time to pull the good shit off it

it was already missing the front driveshaft, so i assume the front diff and or the t case may be shot too..

wheres a good place to sell it as is and hopefully get 4-500 bucks for it?
