Stupid things that PO's did to your car

Some of you need to take a closer look at cars before you buy them :nice:

Mine have pretty well all been as expected, shitty stereo wiring like every e30, plenty of neglect on the 318 but I knew what I was buying. The M3 had an absolute shit amp install, first thing I did when I got the car home was tear that mess of wires out, and I guess just the fact that someone let an e30 M3 get to the point of "project" is a little depressing, but I can't have a project if someone didn't ruin it in the first place.

I'm mostly just here to see if any of my old cars were mentioned :) so far so good.

That would have been bad getting pulled over and searched. I'm sure they hear "thats not mine" quite often.

Wow that's crazy. Good thing you found it beforehand because that's actually something that worries me.

I've always assumed that my car was like a drug transport car and that the fuel tank had a hidden compartment since i've pretty much tore through the car already interior-wise and mostly because I couldn't really fill it up to what it's supposed max capacity was. Later realized that my fuel tank was just beat up. lol

Ugh! Where do I begin... Okay so we agreed I was gonna buy the e30 the day I went to see it the first time. The day I go pick it up I see half the car had been sanded down, I'm thinking here "wtf?" then the wheels were supposedly powder coated, lol those shits were rattled canned! Hood was bronze when it's a Schwarz and it had the ricy(est) hood latches, I took them off immidietly.

yeah i've sorted out all the wiring, but not the cluster problems. i'm not keeping rear speakers for my build so that part isn't a big deal luckily

bumped the radio/cluster fuse to 15 amps for an aftermarket deck. fried the stereo wiring, and i'm pretty sure it's partially to blame for my cluster issues.

also HACKED the rear seat deck (like with a chisel and hammer) to screw 6x9 speakers in with WOOD SCREWS. total moron.

Cup holder drilled into my e30s perfect and crack free dash. Took it out immediately but the holes are still there. Makes me cry inside

My shifter was the other way around.
Neutral seemed liked you were in third gear and actual third gear involved punching the hvac.

Drove my wifes car around for two years and one day while driving to town I notice a lump in the drivers side sun visor. I stuck my finger in the pocket and pulled out a bag of weed. Neither her or I smoke. Must have been from the previous owner who I know to be a big pot head. That would have been bad getting pulled over and searched. Not really stupid but, my whole car smells like gas inside because when he changed the fuel pump he either didn't seal it or there is a hose loose.
