This thread makes me wonder why I waste my time with E30's. So much want for a 2002 right now.

If I had one I'd take off the front bumper and get a turbo front valance, M42 on bike carbs, coil overs, 15x8 et4 Performance Superlites, 4.10 LSD, OMP classic buckets, Momo Prototipo, ZHP knob.

haha thanks! It's getting some more low in the front and some bodywork cleanup and then I'll be looking into doing a proper shoot and making a thread.

Get yerself over to 2002FAq and get some edumacating before you dive off into a 2002. A bad example can be a total moneypit. For that matter, so can a good example. Be prepared for sticker shock on some of the trim parts. A full set of new grilles (L,R,Kidney) can set you back almost $1000. Yes, one thousand dollars.

If you go for a driver, rather than a show car, it can be done on a fair budget. Pretty easy to work on, and the carb'd cars are prime candidates for mods and upgrades. Always go for the car with the least rust.

Those are known as Zender flares.
Zender made them in ABS and also sold the matching air dam.
Another company in Oregon called Z-Products was making the same fender flares in fiberglas.

It takes a buttload of work to do these. I chose the fiberglas ones for my car. They were made for long point bumpers and also had the hole for the fuel filler. I modified mine to use short point bumper ends and deleted the fuel filler hole. The rears require cutting the outer body almost up to the waist trim line. The inner fender well is then slotted and brought out to be welded to the cut side panel. The front fenders just bolt on, but you have to get creative with your hood support solution.

Other flare styles for the 02 include GT (similar to Zender, but twice as wide. Korman used to sell these), Alpina(pig cheek), Turbo, VW, and countless customs.

Was coming home after my mom picked up her e90 spotted an 02 at a car dealership and had my mom turn around. Was the lot owners car who had purchased it new in 76' and had it garaged until recently. Everything original and was unbelievable.
