no key code for my car...WTF!

i lost the key for my e30 this past weekend. I went to the dealer with the title & vin so they could cut me a new key. They looked up the vin and said that the key code for my car was missing a digit (4 instead of the needed 5).

i was told that the lock cylinders will have the needed keycode on them. I took apart the trunk lock cylinder down to the internals and did not find one number on it.

any suggestions would be appreciated.

if it helps, the last 8 digits of the vin is EE65587 and its a 91 318is.
the key code that the bmw database spit out is HB00004159. The last 5 digits count and should start with 1-9. Mine is missing a number somewhere in there.

go to a lock smith they are better to deal with
I had that happen to me the lock smith cut me a new key and it was only like 2 $ the guy really didnt give a shit about the price he just liked doin his job

how did he cut the key.
i have no key for the locksmith to copy
no code to provide him or anything. just have the car itself

Any dealer should be able to order the key from the chasiss number only.

If you have no luck, then buy a second hand lock set and key's.

^^^ bmw cannot make a key because they're lock code in their database for my chassis is not complete.

I need your whole chassis number, and I will see what I can find for you. (not just the last 8 ) that only work's for part's.
