I have to somewhat disagree on this too. I have done atleast 10/15 M20 heads and have found maybe 2 that slid that easily- and after reinstalling all the components the "bent/warped" heads held up just fine for long times.- now yes, in a perfect world it should be that easy- but it isnt.

if you have to hammer the shaft out, it's bent, or your head is warped, or things are so full of gunk your engine is fucked anyway.

ohh, and you should just pull the head and replace all of the valve springs and valve seals-- your just going to break another really soon.-- unless the motor is just a "get around town who cares thing"

Do at least valve guide seals while you are in there.

I changed all my rockers and the shafts slid out very smoothly and easily once I pushed the rockers off the valves and cam

Have now theaded an M10 in front of the shaft and released tension on all rockers, and still it will not move!

The engine/car is just for work, traning, a to b don't care car. So the less money I can use, the better!
