ok, lately my AIM freezes up at random, says "not responding" . Do i need to uninstall and reinstall, or what the fuck is up?

My AIM started to do that kind of shit about a month ago. I would go to close my buddy window, and AIM would freeze, and close. Then other times, I would go to sign on, and it would get to #3 of the sign-on procedures, and hang on #3 until it timed out. Then, when I would try to close it and sign on again, it would say "You are trying to sign on again too soon".

I uninstalled it and installed Trillian 3. FUCK AIM.

What is AIM? Is it some sort of Trillian knockoff?

I finally upgraded my trillian, cant see what it gets me. I guess the teleconfrencing but I dont use that.

The basic version of Trillian 3 is more than enough features for the average user.

For me Trillian isn't worth it unless I were to go back to using more then one messenger, AIM is fine if you get DeadAIM with it, it's basically a new program after that. I think Trillian has too much, unless you're going to use all of the features and are constantly talking to people on MSN, ICQ, AIM, and IRC.

If AIM, a basic messenger program isn't running on your computer, it's got to be something more then just AIM, unless you got a bad download or something.Iit does happen sometimes when you download something that is missing one file.

No offense Josh, but he should look into other reasons why this happened instead of branding AIM as shit and moving on. AOL is shit for alot of reasons, but AIM has been a standard for a long time. Add DeadAIM and it's much better, no ads and alot of resourceful features.

I've tried many AIM clients, including gaim and Trillian (both for quite some time), but nothing compares to the ol' AIM client with DeadAIM.
