    Some wiring help.

    Hey guys,

If you were to wire the low beams on an e30 to be go on with the ignition, how would you do it?
My car's a US-spec car, imported to Canada and consequently, I have daytime running lights wired this way.
Apparently, the low beams were wired to the ignition and I wanted to know the possible ways this could be done, so I can finally take these damn things off!

Does anyone know how to go about this
    Thanks in advance.

Our headlights only come on with the key in the ignition position.

Parking lights come on with the key in any position.

This is normal behavior. What would you like yours to do?

Sorry, I should have been more clear.

When my key is in the igntion:
      Position 0: low beams on
Position 1: low beams, parking lights & interior lights on
Postion 2: Same as position 1

How do I fix this and put it back to stock.

That sounds like your DRL system is causing the issue. I know Canada had some gummint mandated BS that made DRL systems get hacked in.

Drop your dash, take a few pics, lets figure it out.

        Did you DL your ETM?

          No, not yet.
The thing is, I don't think I have a DRL "system".
I was told the ignition and low beam were wired together, but I don't really know where to look to undo this problem.

So you cannot shut off your low beams when your key is on?

Drop that panel, get some pics.

              Exactly.
I'll try to get some asap, because the e30's hibernating for the winter..

How do I wire all my lights to turn off when the key is out? I'm tired off the parking lights draining my battery.
I'm also looking for the fog light trick to get those to come on independantly

I am on my wifes computer...mine has all the schematics. I will get back to you later on this.

You want the fogs to some on whenever you have the switch on, or only with key on, or key on/lights on or what?

I get a lot of requests for that, but have not yet worked out the details that normal guys can do. The "fix" that has been shown here before is BS, IMO.

Thanks, and I would like for my fogs to come on when I press the fog button but only when the ignition is on regardless if the lights are on.
