    Bell housing removal help

    Bell housing removal help!!!??
I just recently purchased a transmission and the ups monkies mishandled it resulting in a snapped transmission mount. I have the old one with the old trans mounts and thought I could remove the back end connected to the bell housing and pit it on the new trans since the old had a broken gear. So I have two questions is this even possible to take the back end of and swap it on the new one? And if so how do I go about removing the bell housing? i have tried everything I have taken ever bolt I see off and stillbwont bugde I would really appreciate the help.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

The trans is one piece. You could take the trans apart more towards the middle, but that would also require gear changing and all that. Unless you have the e30 m3 trans, that trans has the traditional removable bell housing.

The trans is a 240 is there any special way to take it apart from the bell housing back I have removed all the bolts from the middle and am tryin to take of the part where the input shaft meets the engine. I have even removed that 30 milimeter bolt from the end of the imput shaft and it still won't budge

If it's just the rear mounting tabs broken off, why not take it to an aluminum welder & have them fix it? Should be simple & cheap(ish).
