Troubleshooting some electrical problems with my 87 325is

    Hey techs,

so the passenger side window on my E30 doesn't work since i bought my car, could that be a bad fuse?since i already checked and changed the switch and still no go? also the 12v input to recharge your phone, ipod, radar detector plug-in isn't working either, what would that be? and my heated seats both don't work either.

also i am having some problems with my wiper motor, sometime when i turn the wiper on it will just go the fastest mod and i can't even turn it down aka make it go slower, even if i turn the wipers off, i have to unplug the fuse to be able to get the wipers to go off. and sometime when i brake really hard the wipers will instantly go on for no reason? wtf lol....

This was generally referred to as a cigarette lighter in the '80s they didn't have ipods, cell phone and other crap to plug in there.

It's pretty easy to go through and check your fuses by using a multimeter. Set it to continuity and touch the two small metal posts on top of each fuse. If you get continuity, it's a good fuse, if not, it's blown. That method is way quicker than pulling each one, and you don't need to know which fuse goes to what! Or you could get one of those little fuse testers at an auto parts store. That could likely be your problem with the cigarette lighter.

OP, check your fuses first and foremost. As far as the wipers go, could be the stalk, or relay.

there is 1 fuse for both windows, if its blown windows wont work at all

check and clean connections, but they do go bad. I see people buying them often enough...

              Please leave feedback below, thanks

Sounds like a plan. what Fuse # for the cigarette lighter? i think i am pretty sure i checked everysingle fuse and they were good to go. and i just blew a foglight before i parked it for winter. Urgh this is pissing me off.

and To asnwer the switch question, i already tried the swich from the driver side(working window) and it didn't do anything. thats why i was thinking of either a bad fuse(which is clearly not) or somthing else.

and for the heated seats what could that be?
