agrreed Rob, dual 3's too big. that would sound like a fart piped civic and porb hurt the motor. 2 1/4 was what I was thinking. Running the boost I am looking @ will be able to create that back pressure.

ooooooooooh, booost changes the whole deal. I personally would do a single 3" pipe to save weight and complication. You can alway use dual tips to get the same look as dual exhaust.BEERTECH

illegal- yes. Some states you can get away with it however. Some states either dont do sniffer tests, and sometimes a car runs clean enough to pass the sniffer test even without a cat....BEERTECH

I had my car inspected last week (i'm in NC). At this particular shop, which was an honest, non-good ole boy place, I would not have passed without a cat in place. They put my car on a lift and inspected the exhaust system, then did the sniffer test. A cleanly tuned car with a hollowed out cat would have passed.
Of course, there's plenty of ways around that, I can buy inspection stickers for $40 if I wanted to....or take a case of beer to certain shop.
But for the record, NC does care.. And please dont spring the environmental bullshit on me. The dirtiest running car with a test pipe doesnt hold a candle to the impact you're average diesel bus or truck has.........BEERTECH

Yeah, Rob is is in ol Charllotte, they do in fact give a shit. I'm in a small beach community of about 75,000. There are honest garages down here. But there are several where a 20 will get you a sticker.Comment
