    Tell me what to buy!!!

Ok so I found out today that if I buy a car older than 25 years. currently thats a 1980 model year then I dont have to convert anything to bring it back to the states. That means NO and I repeat NO DOT or EPA stuff. Ok now then what do I buy? what would you guys recomend? I was thinking a 2002 like a tii or maybe if I get lucky enough a turbo... how about a 3.0 CSL. please throw out some ideas for me. Thanks! OH and if I do get another e30, then I will go all AC Schnitzer with it, like Ryan did with Alpina.

Get a 3.0CSL or an early E30 if you are going to be there for 3 years. My 323i is 22 currently. Find one of them and by the time you are coming back it will be 25 years old.

ohh boy, your really dreaming now!!! a 3.0CSL, or a 2002 turbo--- there is no way in the world you wiould be able to afford that on a salary from the airforce. Its great to dream though! buy a E21 and go ahead and drop a 3.5 into it!

Try a tuner car? In the English mags there are always really cool old Alpinas and such.

I would probably get an E30 touring or a 2002 or both. Check your PMs.

E21 Alpina Bi-turbo. That is from back when Alpina built badass cars.

its not like the cars that you all are talking about are to be found over here in germany.
I think ive seen maybe 5 or 6 real ALPINA E30s in the last 10 years over here, and never a ALPINA E21.
when a car gets older than 10 years old they are pretty much gone from the world. the TUV standards are really hard over here and once a car starts getting cancer, good bye! Its not like the germans can just pull the old car up behind the barn and let it turn into a flower box either, they are really strict about that stuff here too.
your best bet to finding a good car are to search: mobile.de or autoscout24.de
good luck, there are still some cool cars out there to be had, you just gotta look really hard.
