except on E30s, the torque converter locks at 55mph. and the overdrive gear is taller than the 5 speeds. it's possible to get better economy on the highway, except they come with 4.10s because low speed acceleration sucks. so it ends up a wash.
21 in an eta sucks. I'd be upset if it was less than 25 mixed. I get 19 with my stroker right now, but I do mostly short trips.
325e 21mpg?? should it better?

highway with 5sp, i get low 30s on a long trip and upper 30s if I stay 70 entire way in 5th, auto should be even better with longer overdrive.Leave a comment:

also Holland it's probably warmer where you're at year round. My eta will average 22-25 until the outside temps pick up. What's more telling is my Highway mileage which now is 26mpg but will jump to 30 in the Spring and Summer. When we see 90's up here my cars do their best.Leave a comment:

That's what I thought. I get roughly 23mpg flogging it with a 5spd and a 3.91.Leave a comment:

Auto's use more fuel as they are not as efficient in the older style transmissions.Leave a comment:

21 can't be right. I can do better, not by much mind you, in my M10. Would that be related to the auto?Leave a comment:

Air Pressure? Ever 10 degrees of temp below freezing psi falls 1 degree. Last time you changed fluid and filter?
Typical fuel filter? Plugs cap and rotor?
I get 24 average with my auto vert with hardtop on it.
Was getting in the 18's at the beginning of the month after the car sat for about 3 week with sub temps.Leave a comment:
