    Brake duct

So this may be a retarded question, but I'm missing the right brake cooling duct on my car. How important would it be to replace it? Basically just worried about the one side being cooled more than the other and causing uneven braking and or wear? Or is this no big deal?

Shouldn't make much of a difference for DD'ing purposes.

The brakes get plenty of air flow even wit those brake ducts not in. They would only become beneficial for brake cooling if you were on the track, and you were hard on the brakes constantly.

my car doesnt even have them. for DD purposes, they are more aesthetic than anything else. dont sweat it. If it makes you feel better, remove the left one until you get a replacement.

e30s didn't come with brake ducts from 86-87, so they can't be that important...

I think that '85 had some brake ducts in them, the valance and lip got off an '85 in the 'yard has them. Realoem doesnt show ducts on the '87 listing. I havent checked for an '86

84-85 had them (tiny ones in the lip)
                  86-87 didn't have them EXCEPT US-Spec es/is's with the cow-catcher
88-92 had them (large ones in the valence)
