Probably picking up this 325is this week

Just thought i'd post the ad on here and see if it raises any red flags with all of you better educated bimmer owners..

i asked about the timing belt and water pump he said the previous owner didn't inform him about the last time they were replaced so he doesnt know how old they are.. other than that here it is

Not a bad little car, but really REALLY check out that rust.

I bought an e30 with some "small rust" areas that turned out to be a lot more extensive in reality. To the PO's credit, it's hard to tell exactly where the rust has made it's way too. Which also applies to how you go about fixing it. Specifically, I'd poke around the rear pass. quater panel a bit and make you know prior purchase how far the rots gone.

Also, for $2,500 with rust, I'd try and talk him down to around $1,800-2,000 if you can.

Sounds a little steep, I think you should pass. You can find lots of better E30's out there.

That's a $1500 car if that, in the condition it's in. Rust is a HUGE no no.

My old e30 look cleaner than that one, and come to find it was so rusted the gas pedal pulled right out of the floor (what was left of the floor). You could never tell from just looking at it, give that car a very close inspection if rust is a concern.

lol, same shit with my first e30. Floor pans were rusted to shit. I was driving on a trail once with it, kicked up a rock hit the passenger floor pan and put a huge hole/dent in the floor. Unreal the rust was on that thing.

I was lucky and found one in Chicago with very minor rust, garage kept. It took me 3 years, lol. If you don't want to wait save enough to have a car shipped to you from outside the rust belt.

Pass. If you really want an e30, one with rust is nowhere to start.
Look under the driverside and passenger side carpet. If you see rust you might as well pass. It's getting harder and harder to find rust-free e30's but unless you're ready to repair it as soon as you get the car, might as well pass. I'm learning this the hard way.

im also taking a look at another one with minor rust, its closer to me and its only issue is a bad CV joint, the guy said he has two rebuilt axles that i can replace the current ones with so im going to check that out today and hopefully i can snap some pictures and get back to all you guys. I really don't want to wait years to find a clean e30, I'm willing to start with one that has minor rust until i can save some money and look into getting a better one down the road. But for now, i just need to get the hell out of driving my jeep, gas hog and boring as hell to drive
