    Demon eyes (pics)

I've been toying with this idea for quite some time now and finally got around to trying it out. Grabbed an old US ellipsoid and went to work tonight.

Sorry for the crappy pictures, it's not very easy to photograph and achieve the same look that they have in real life.

This was just a test one to figure stuff out before cutting into my good headlights. Overall I'm really pumped to make the real set now.

Yep, two red HiLED's drilled/mounted on the back inner reflector. Basically all it's doing is reflecting a red glow through the projector lens. As soon as the HID fires it completely drowns out the tiny LEDs and all you see is white light. The mod is completely invisible when off too, considering they're just tiny clear dots deep inside the headlight.

I'd like to wire them up to the parking lights, but a seperate switch would be okay if I could find somewhere to mount it.

We are forced by law to use "day-lights" 24/7 here, so lot's of new cars are equipped with LED day-lights, and lots of old cars have them from the aftermarket.

I wonder if this mod could be made with bright white LED's to act as day-lights... No real light output needed for those - it's just so that other drivers can see you better.

Maybe I should give it a shot. Great idea with the "demon eyes" ;) Apart from being red ;)

Ive been wanting to do this to my 2002 For ages,
but instead I thoguth it would be much more practical, and sinister with the e30 smoked projectors.

                          Inb4 smoked demon eyes.

too bad your much more intelligent, and have better know how than me :/
