I truly believe the problem is more software related than mechanical problem. But we will never know. Regarding the lies, One of the top Toyota guys was interviewed on a local radio show a few weeks ago (discussing the NUMMI plant shutdown) and I thought... man this guy is full of shit. He should be working for the professor in the White House. He could spin any topic. Great communicator but full of shit.

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak told a crowd today of an unintentional acceleration problem with his 2010 Toyota Prius, which isn't under a recall. "This is software. It's not a bad accelerator pedal," he told the crowd. "It's very scary."

This morning on The Today Show, Toyota president Jim Lentz lied twice to Matt Lauer about Toyota's 2.3-million-vehicle accelerator pedal recall.

Drug to the local Auto Show by friends of mine last evening. Overheard someone asking a Toyota salesman about the recall. His answer: "Oh, it's a voluntary recall that affects only a handful of units."

5.3 million of anything is more than a handful

Pontiac Vibe is now on the list. European sales now halted as well.

You really think that a US built BMW is of lesser build quality than its german counter part???? Wow you are naive

Unless they still make the Camry and Corolla.
Made in my home town of Georgetown, KY. The plant has shut down one line, but is still using all its workers. The part was made somewhere else and shipped to us. There are a few different places that made the part, thats why only some of the cars are being recalled.

Paranoia? You don't know any more than we do about why it was done.

People tend to freak about "unintended acceleration" after the '80s Audi problems. I own a Tundra that is under the recall and I'm not worried a bit about it ;)

Those dumb tree-hugging fucks will loose all of their 'savings' in fuel when they need to replace them. You're a fucking moron if you think that "study" about Prius batteries was even remotely legitimate.

PS: Prius Batteries are warrantied for 8 years or 100k miles.
