    worth it or move on....?

hey guys new member here. Looking for an e30 for cheap. Id rather get the joy of fixing it rather than buying one fully finished.

That being said i went to see a car today...found here:http://toronto.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-cars-1991-BMW-3-Series-Coupe-2-door-W0QQAdIdZ180601053

i went to see it and well it needs alot of work:
-brakes all around, their rusted from sitting
-gas line we couldn't see eactly where it was, but he pointed to the rear frame and said behind it.
-interior seats are shot including door cards (rips)
-driver fender, rear valence, front bumper is cracked
    -heatercore
-clear coat is peeling in a couple spots (is that somehting that i can cut with 1000grit and repolish, or do i have to respray with clear?)

The car has been sitting for about a month so the brakes are rusted. The handbrake was set and when i dropped it, the rear tires didnt spin causing me to think the cable is seized (easy fix or no?)
The rust isn't as bad as i thought, rust is in a few spots such as the rear license plate lights, surface rust in the trunk. 1 thing i did notice was one of the body hole plugs under the drivers floor was missing and the carpet/sound deadener was wet so im assuming theres some surface rust there and same as the other side. However the rest of the bottom seems to be covered in a rustproof coating. Because of the gas leak, the guy has it up on jackstands (back tires) and said the car wouldn't start due to the gas leak, apparently the line is cut right off. But he said he drove the car about a month ago when he got it.
He doesn't do any of the work himself as he has another e30 in the garage which he said he bought it like that, and had another one before which he had all the work done by green and ross.

Now all that being said, hes asking 900(old price on kijiji). I think a fair offer would be 200 seeing as it needs that much work, but do you think its even wort it or a lost cause alltogether? I dont mind putting in the time to make it work but just wondering if this one is a little too much. Btw he doesnt seem like a shady guy so i do believe him when he says the car drove a month ago. Ohh and dash is cracked lol in one spot. rear shocks are new

Sorry to butcher you with all that reading but lemme know what u think.

If you can pick it up for 200-300 cant lose, if its running/ drivable especially. But ME.. Id keep looking. I want a car running at least to evaluate its potential.

    Good Luck Mate!

I would say move onto something a little cleaner. The problem with the cars is rust, especially in the front corners of the floor pan. It just seems like you would be getting into a little too much rusty parts than it is worth. You can get a rather respectable e30 for $1200 or less. I would always start with a car that you can drive and fix a part at a time. That way you can at least enjoy it while doing the work to make it better.

Move on. You are looking at a late model 318is out of all e30s, you can't expect to get that for the price of an early 325e.
