    stuck intake manifold. :(

trying to get the intake manifold off of the M20 in my E21, and i've got all of the hoses disconnected, nuts removed from studs, etc... anything that could possibly get in the way, and the bastard is still not coming off... its got about 2-3mm wiggle room, when i tug on it, but it's just not coming off. a previous owner decided to augment the gasket with silicone, which seems to be acting as one hell of a glue.

im scared to crack the head wall, so i'm not trying to pry on it too aggressively.

    any ideas?

done... that was one of the first things i checked... besides, with the amount of force we've applied to this thing, there's no way that breather tube could have been the culprit.

idk the breather tube is pretty sturdy. Its a big metal bar underneath. Is the thermostat housing and everything off? I remember i had to take both of them off at exactly the same time to remove them.
Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

yeah, the spring loaded one, under the driver's side of the intake manifold...

it looks like an oversized VW aircooled pushrod tube.
