    Anyone Diagnose problem?

Hey guys, so I have an 88 E30 Convertible that's running really rich. By that I mean you can smell the gas coming from the exhaust and when you put the car in gear it accelerates funny. It will get up to speed but it is really rough and is almost like cutting out but really fast and repetitious. When it does get above lets say 35 it runs well but as soon as you go back down it is really rough and will even have a hard time idling. I was wondering what this could be? This all started to happen right after I went to smog my car and it failed terribly. The results were, 15MPH %CO2 was 13.2, %O2 was 2.4, The HC(PPM) measured at 154 the legal max is 114, the avg is 31, the CO% passed but was over the average .10 I got .47, NO(PPM) measured 1327 max is 785 the average is 199. For the 25 MPH tests everything passed but the HC(PPM) measured 87 and the max is 88 so just barely. Anyways, I was told it could be I need a new Cat, or a tuneup or a new O2 Sensor. Any suggestions?? Before all this started everything ran great. I appreciate any and all help.

    Thanks,
    Seth

    Check the AFM.

      sounds like an 02 sensor!
Check to see if the leads are still hooked up to the sensor.

AFM is the air flow meter, the metal thing on the back of your airbox with the flap in it. that flap moves from airflow and tells the ECU how much air is coming in.
