pulling the steering u-joint from the steering spline!

    Any tips?!
I got the rack of that end, but i cant get the u-joint off the steering wheel spline!

also, when i pull on it hard, the whole spline moves with it an inch.. what needs to be tightened on the steering column to fix this???

    Thanks!!!

Nothing, it's just a fucking bitch to get off.

I did my steering rack swap on my old car when the engine was out and it was still a pain in the ass.

Make sure the screw is loosened up all the way, soak it with some PB Blaster (or something similar), go eat a Taco, go back and hit it with a dead blow.

BFH, Yeah I remember the cursing I did at mine, took a while even standing in the engine compartment, just make sure it all loose or even take the screw all out, get a pry or large screwdriver in the spline slot and give it a bit of a pull, other than that some PB blaster, hammer and patience, it will come off.

its out, i wasnt prying and hitting hard enough.

it also helps to go in the exact direction it needs to come off in.

Any tips for getting the bitch back on as far as it needs to go?

I removed everything. And it drives off wicked easy once you get the right angle. Its a stupid ass design. Should've been a flange on one side.
