    Help my mom!

She's looking to buy a new (to her) car

Specs are under 10K straight up no trade

Less than 30000 for mileage I'm thinking

Got to be an auto, and she would love a sunroof...she's 70 with a small dog woo ho!

Like to get this done soon

    Thinking? http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb

    Would love your guys input/thoughts,

Is that what your mom is into? You should try to get her into a 318is if she wants a hatchback.

In my opinion, I would never recommend a BMW or European car to a non-enthusiast family member. Ever.

They are filled with idiosyncracies that "car people" might be able to justify, but "car-as-an-appliance" people would be driven to the brink of insanity. The last thing you want is your mom calling you at work, asking "HEY SON THERE'S A CLUNKING IN THE CAR!!" and you asking "oh hey mom, is it coming from the front or the back?"

She'll then say "I DON'T KNOW. BUT THERE IS A CLUNKING NOISE IN THE CAR!!" Then you'll ask, "Um, is the clunking when you accelerate, go over a bump, or when you brake?" Then, she'll say, "IT'S CLUNKING ALL THE TIME!! GET YOUR ASS OVER HERE AND FIX IT!!"

If I were to recommend a car around 10K, it'd be an 07+ Hyundai Sonata. Its roomy, usually comes loaded with features, and has the balance of a 6 year / 100K powertrain warranty, and it doesn't accelerate under demonic influence.

P.S. George Graves and wh33lhop, go to sleep.

I tried the Hyundai Sonata idea on Autotrader none come back in her price range, with the mileage we're thinking...

Ah, yeah, the ones I saw were definitely on the higher side of mileage, and not at a main dealer.

But, it's not like these things are rare, so it might be possible to negotiate them down by a significant fraction of the asking price. Most stealers have probably made plenty of money from the lease.
