My little brother and I rescued his girlfriends dads 2000 volvo s80 from being towed away off the side of the highway and he gave it to us. The story behind the car. Alright, her dad got it from a dealer who bought it at a police auction. The car was involved in a shooting which involved the driver side rear passenger to be shot at close range with a shootgun through the passenger side side front window. Guy survived, car was taken by the state. Sold by the dealer who replaced the passenger side seat and cleaned up the mess.
This leads us to little bro's girlfriends dads ownership. This guy has absolutely no clue about cars at all. We get a call that he is stranded on the side of the highway because there is a wrench stuck in the engine and it's banging around when it's running. Funny thing is he can see "the wrench" banging around. He blames Walmart for it since he had his car there(12k miles ago for a oil change) last.

He seriously said, "those bastards must have left a wrench in the engine when they changed my oil." He's straight up serious. My brother and I get there and he tells us he is just going to leave it to be towed. He doesn't care. We ask him if we can have it. He says yes and gives us the title. I open the hood and what do I see? I see a rod stuck in the radiator on one end and another sticking out of the block on the other. The one sticking out was the wrench he saw slamming around. Pretty spectacular failiure. lol and it still runs.
Here it is covered in a lot of snow and soon to have another 3in on top of it.

It's actually very clean. Except for a few pellet holes in the back seat. Power everything, sunroof, heated seats, tint, aftermarket wheels, full leather interior that is very comfy, and 130k miles. We are looking at engines and it is looking like 800-1000 for a good long block. Except for the engine, everything else is pretty good to great condition. It's going to be my little brothers first car/project.
