    Since my area is currently going through our fifteenth snowocalypse of the season, I stumbled across this story today.     The 5.4-liter supercharged aluminum V-8 in the '11 Shelby GT500 is 100 pounds lighter than it predecessor. Eight pounds of that comes from an absence of traditional cylinder liners. What do the Nissan GT-R and GT500 have in common? This.

    thats pretty cool

    they say its more cost effective too, as far as not being able to bore out to increase displacement if they can keep the machine's costs down they could sell them to high end machine shops, and eventually the bore it out possibility will come back.
