Ok so when I bough my car I noticed it had an IE 19mm rear sway bar but did not have the mounts on the trailing arms reinforced. I figured I would get around to having them reinforced when I got the chance. Well after 2 months of spirited driving I heard some nasty clunks from the left rear, Looked underneath the car and found the mount was shreded. I ordered the TMS Reinforcement kit and took the car to a long time friend who is an exellent welder. After $200 and about 3 hours, got it all fixed. So if your running an after marker rear sway bar without the reinforcements, don't kid yourself, it will break.......
Don't be an idiot like me....

The trailing arm tabs will break in a heartbeat with anything more than a 14.5mm M3/IX bar, the upper mounts will last a while without a failure but it's a good idea to reinforce them. If it does fail, you have to grind away the undercoating and weld the body mount back in place...not fun.

The factory peice was beyond repair, he had to cut the cancerous section out of the trailing arm, make a new paice and weld it in, and then install the reinforcements. It was actually $160 for that, then he did a few other bits and bods. He took his time and it looks factory. It seemed a fair price for the amount of time and quality.Comment
