    power steering working one way

hey guys i got a 1991 e30 , i just rebuilt the rack & pinion , and now power steering was working only on right side, after bleeding system, left side got a bit of power assist, but left side still has hard spots what do u guys say? i cant take it around the block my car is in storage in my garage blocked with a pile of snow....

If there are hard spots, I think it's more likely to be the steering knuckle. Lube it up with the oil can, spin the wheel back and forth, and report back.

    Worked wonders on mine.

knucle or universal joint from rack to steering shaft? because i just replaced the loose u-joint .... what the knucle has to do with this?....to remind u the knuckle is the piece that holds the hub and what the caliper bolts on... but i'm sure u wanted to say u-joint....

but it still doest solve my problem...

I just dumped oil on the visible rotating assembly. I thought I had a problem with the rack, as it sounds like you think you have, and oiling that assembly was suggested to me, and it worked, and it's still happy. It's been 3 months since I oiled it. I quite literally dumped half a quart of mobil 1 on it. A bit wasteful, but it rust proofs whatever else it lands on, so I'm ok with that.

Both ends of #11, whatever they're called:
