How hard is it to find clean bumpers to swap? And why would it cost so much? Labor?

I am not considering swapping transmissions anymore, I didn't know the costs.

Habla, on a coupe, you can somewhat comfortably seat 4 people. You can easily fit 5 good looking slim women, dont worry about the capacity too much.

MattM20 is right. If you could find a nice '88 325iS, the plastic bumper swap I heard is easy, a direct swap. 88 arguably is the best year for 325s.

If money is an issue, 87 and down could be an option too, but I personally don't like the looks of them, and to make my eyes happy, it would take quite a bit of papers.

My thoughts exactly. If save money to buy a diving board e30, i know I would want to spend the extra bills to swap the bumpers, or I could just jump the gap and spend more money on a plastic bumpered e30.

Good to know that the back seat isn't too cramped, thanks.

This looks like what I want, but how the hell will he get $4260 for it when the KBB is around $2500?

Because the World of Selling E30s varies. You can find an incredibly good deal, a fair deal, or there are jackasses that charge 5k for a stock 318i.

Do you think I could show him the kbb and get it lower?

Show any of those morons the blue book. I can't stand people who think because they see people selling 1992 325i's for 5000 dollars that it is reasonable to charge 4000 for a 1990 in average condition.
I retired my E30 for now...

yes 1g would include labor on a pre88 car where the rear has to be trimmed, and would also include the purchase of a front valance, but excluding an optional rear apron. bumper swaps can be done for relatively cheap if you have a 88, find a local set, and can get a deal on paint.
