..it depends on your tires, how healthy your motor is and the nature of the surface you are on. You are better off being on slippery surfaces such as water or snow. It heats up your diff and messes up your driveline components when done aggresively

Watch out for anti-donut replies. I don't do em no more, tires cost too much and it can get boring real quick...I'd rather practice some moves or at least just hook one circle and call it a day.

Here's a pic of a 325iS I owned back in the day (2 years ago) and its signature on tarmacGot LSD

Does an open diff limits my donut-practicing abillity ?!? LOL
Does an LSD make things easier ?

Open diffs will totally hinder your ability to do donuts. I tried in the mustang i had while the car was being worked on, and i could barely get it to do a 180.

              open diffs suck.

Hey e9nine, who's the one that did a couple of donuts at the end of the Turkey Trot, creating a cloud of dust that went straight to my car? :D

ummm that was on dirt,no tire wear and it was only 1 circle  heh heh. I had to share the dirt I had on my car with yours anyway...you know you lost the dirt on the highway drive back home though ;)

On a parking with fresh tarmac,I could only make circles, leaving tyremarks of my inside wheel and that was it! Maybe today i ll film some of these activities and post it (yeah, found a digicam!) on an abandoned parkin space I found somewhere...
Dont hold your breath though :-/

..this is because you have an Open Differential...You want an LSD for better traction in situations like this and snow & rain

My sister's car will need tires soon. That means I can grab her used tires.....tires that are practically worthless...... 8) 195/60R14 tires......that would go well with my basketweaves. ;)

If all goes as planned......keyword: video

When i do doughnuts, on a wet or dry surface, i have no problem breaking the back end loose...but my problem is that when i go to turn, my front tires just plow and i keep going straight while my front tires are pointed left or right. It's real annoying

Its called understeer..either bump up your front tire pressure or unwind then wind the wheel a little bit and don't floor the gas like crazy. Different situations cause understeer even on cars with tweaked suspensions...its your duty as the driver to prevent it prevailing when it does occur  If you were to play around more, you'll eventually figure out how to get rid of it. The easiest is to simply ease off the gas. in your case you can pop the clutch too and watch the car start to rotate again 8)
